Nothing like portra. Much more saturated, warmer colors and grainer. That being said I like it and use it and gold fairly frequently

i shot it exclusively up until the price hike. its not worth it now and im sticking to foma/kentmere. for c41 ive switched to proimage100 and shoot about 1 roll every 2 months; devd and scanned at a lab. having said that, i like the film a lot and regularly pushed it to 3200 to shoot indoors. loss of detail was high but i feel it added some character to the cheap film

not any to post here. all family / friends. dont be afraid to try it out though, just stay away from shooting it outdoors in the day (sunny16 f16 EV) as those shots dont scan well at all. i know it makes no sense to push it to 3200 and shoot in the day, but sometimes you just wanna finish a roll. with ultramax, dont waste shots during the day if you push it they will 100% look like shit

It's your classic kodak gold. It's a work horse film stock. Easy to use, gives good colours, prints fine at 6x4 but scans don't hold up to something like ektar or portra 160/400. Shoot it, you won't go wrong with it.
