I don't have to go with the obnoxiously loud arc-form servodrives on my EF lenses - even with an EOS650 I can run with the near-silent USM and STM lenses.
I can't speak for compatibility of the 801 with later Nikon electronic focus lenses that are near-silent, but the ability to silently focus is something I like.
