I remember reading a review of Gaspar Noé's Irreversible, and an argument for why it was art rather than pornography, and yet there are dudes over on /gif/ jerking off to that movie right now. I think the argument was something along the lines of porn being built around climax, but irreversible being anticlimax, the whole thing is denouement. Whether you agree with that or not, it doesn't apply to still photography, and yet there are still images which are porn, and still images which are art, and both could be depicting the same subject.
The difference lies in treatment, but where?
