I think I might buy a Tiara II. Anyone here ever use one? I think it’d be nice to have a tiny camera to keep with me at all times, because while I enjoy my X100V, that’s something I take out when I go out and dedicate a whole day to shooting. I want something to carry on me when I’m just walking around and all. I see something cool? Just take the Tiara II out of my pocket and *snap*

But in all seriousness, go for it my man. I bet with some careful shopping you could get a GR1s for about the same as you would pay for a Tiara II, but maybe not. The compact market suffers from a massive hipster tax these days.

The X100 series has tiny batteries. Mine weighs 34 grams. A 36exp roll of film weighs 21 grams and takes up more space in a bag.

I can shoot, comfortably, about 250 shots on one charge, which is about 7 rolls of film, or about 150 grams, plus another 16 grams for a CR2 battery. I could carry around 5 batteries and get 1000+ frames for the same weight expense as the film plus a battery.

And if you're only going to shoot one roll, then it doesn't matter, because any digital camera in the world can last for 36 frames.

Take your current camera with you, now in winter with jackets and coats it's the easiest time of the year, lots of big pockets.

Yeah, you guys are all right. The X100V is just such a wonderful camera, and I shouldn't just splurge around 400 dollars for a 35mm. Maybe in the future if I can find it for a good price, but c'mon. I'm trying to save Christmas money and I don't need to waste money.

Can you elaborate? I don't understand this either, my DSLR gets 500-600 shots per charge and i have 2, if i ever end up swapping them when i'm out i charge it once i get home. with a pretty healthy buffer if i forget that day

I had a Super DL Mini Zoom. It was excellent, I only sold it because I sometimes got slightly funky colouration out of it, I think mostly because of vignetting throwing my scanner's colour balancing off. The regular DL Super Mini (aka Tiara) is supposedly even better - basically a Minolta TC-1 without any manual control.
