>>3757356Astro is really easy to get "any" results (and any result feels mindblowing at first). It obviously gets much better with a good, fast lens, but it's doable even on kit, so do it more, you'll enjoy it a lot. It's also pretty great to make timelapses of the night sky. When i bought my first DSLR, i did it purely for the sole purpose of astro, only after that i've learned that general photography is fun. Nikon has great sensors, i couldn't even think of iso higher than 1600 unless sky was in this semi-moon-illuminated phase when it's slightly blue, i imagine nikon can produce some extra nice results even as it is. Take it in RAW next time, postprocessing is a must in astro. You can also check stellarium to see when cool sky objects will be around you, it's pretty magical to see nebulae or pleiades being caught on your photo.
Enjoy the night sky, it's pretty neat.
