It gives you enough crop to get extra telephoto reach but also not enough to prevent ultrawide shots

Or you could use FF and just crop your image 1.3× and get the same effect, except you have extra image around the edge if you change your mind again. Maybe you have an argument if the pixel density is higher-

got a cheap 1d Mkiii of ebay a while ago. Not a bad camera even in 2020. there are much better ones but for the price, not a bad choice for outdoor photography if you can put some good glass on it. better than rebels

if you're going for a 1d III you may as well go for a 1ds II and have full frame, more megapickles and the same quality and weather sealing. I really like my 1ds II and I use it about as much as my a7 II
