>Contrast equalizer>>what modules do you hateI wish they would just drop the unloved deprecated modules like global tonemap
I wish Color Zones' brightness adjustments worked properly (as in it doesn't turn the image into a noisy mess). Something to do with it being in Lab instead of RGB
>>what modules do you not even know what it's supposed to do I don't fully understand the channel mixer. I mostly just use the presets
>histogram or waveformDoes the waveform offer any actual benefits? Or does it just look cool and make you think it's showing you more?
>>how autistic do you get with masksExtremely. They are one of DT's most powerful feature. Protip: If you want to apply an effect to a subject, draw a path around them just slightly too small, then use feathering to fill out the gaps.
>>why does the profiled de-noise turn every image into blurry baby pooTry setting the blending mode to color. It turns the noise into grain which is a lot less objectionable while preserving the details.
>>>tips + tricksFor really natural-looking contrast, try making a second instance of exposure and setting the blend mode to multiply. Increase the exposure until the midtones look about as bright as you want, then turn down the opacity until the contrast looks good. There's a bug in current DT that means you have to move this multiply exposure to below the regular one, otherwise it goes all weird. You might also need to use a parametric mask to exclude the highest highlights if it's blowing those.
