Doesn't sound too terrible a situation overall, but definitely something to watch out for and enough that i'll just stick to olympus in this circumstance (also saves $300 so i guess its a win).
Yeah i can return it, but i got a good price and i'd likely have to pay return postage, so will probably get as much or more back by just selling.
I have read the pros/cons of the different camera ranges/lines and get you.
But for $370 Aussie New ($250 burger bucks) it was a good deal on the camera and i'd already seen the pretty well reviewed 40-150mm for $150. So it was a real good value setup.
Also I like the 2x crop giving me good zoom even on lower mm lenses (but without losing so much sensor size, as other high crop factor options do).
That Pentax is an interesting camera, but the reason i'd been looking at better cameras was for bigger sensor, better processor and whatnot, just to have all around way better photos. Plus 4k video, good screen, viewfinder etc are nice extras.
Fuck. Now thats its brought up i feel like i have to share where the voyeur spot is, even if no one cares.
It was in tokyo, at the viewing level of the tokyo metropolitan building. In the evening, just playing around with the zoom taking photos of different sections of the city with the night lights.
Then just panned past the top windows of another very tall building, and saw something magical.
A hostess club of some sort, where all the waitresses are cute bunnygirls. Managed to zoom in and get enough that they were clearly cute, but really could have got some clear and lewd photos if i had a good quality lens/camera.
I know i can go to some places like that (and have) but something about getting a photo of the girls from very far away from another skyscraper was pretty great (for my penis).
