I personally am moving away from shooting 35mm colour negative to using an S5 Pro, and 120 format cameras for my monochrome work.

CCD colors are superstition, like nitro lacquer tone in guitars. The 5D mogs almost anything color-wise and it's a CMOS.
If you want color supremacy go FOVEON or go home.

the color accuracy gets really nasty when you push it's limits, and why wouldn't you just expose right?
Just shoot on Av or Tv if you can't handle M.

On most digital cameras you are expected to expose for highlights to ensure the sensor is not clipped as those details will be unrecoverable. This means that the darker areas of the scene must be pushed in post to ensure a balanced image. This is the opposite of a colour negative film where the shadows should be exposed for as highlights are not blown on colour negative.The Fujifilm SuperCCD handles far more like a colour negative than any other sensor. This was why it was so popular in wedding photography to avoid blowing out the bride's dress in bright sunlight. It can also be used to effectively shoot into sunlight or strong artificial light without clipping.
