1st party adapters shouldn't give you much bother, but 3rd party ones could give you some bother.
For example, I have a MFT camera. I can get 1st party Olympus adapters for both Four Thirds and OM mount lenses. I can also get 1st party Panasonic adapters for Leica R and M mount.
But I could also get 3rd party adapters for things like Canon EF and EF-S among other things... And while I would imagine that 1st party adapters are likely well suited to making the vintage lenses give decent results, 3rd party ones basically take a different system with different specifications and just adapts them straight up, meaning you could get undesirable effects like vignetting.
Modern MF lenses are often more expensive than AF prime lenses, and this includes those lenses that have manual apertures too. A modern Kowa or Voigtländer MF lens is about 3 times more expensive than an AF prime lens in the same focal length.
