>>3768674>By MF do you mean on your lens or the mode?As in MF on the lens. Most lenses these days feature a focus ring that's inactive during AF modes (C-AF and S-AF). The are also lenses out there with a manual focus clutch, which work by pulling the focus ring towards yourself, and basically turn your AF lens into a manual lens.
MF mode on cameras without a focus ring usually sucks ass.
>I'm kinda rusty lol with night shots do you usually just boost the ISO or use that since it's gotten better?I typically use settings in Manual Mode to turn up the exposure. The higher the ISO, the worse the noise. Cranking up the ISO is something I avoid for night shots, but I also feel like there are some ISOs which give you something to work with. A good exposure + the subject in focus is workable. A nightscape full of strange pixels isn't.
The main advantage that smartphones have over cameras these days is their "nightsight" modes. Even single sensor systems work far better than cameras these days. Of course, the alternative is to take loads of pictures and compiling them in post...
Of course, this is far more work than someone just holding still for 5-7 seconds with a smartphone.
