For still photography Pentax is arguably the best system. Just like Nikon, you get the ability to autofocus with old glass. But you also get the ability to adapt M42 and other mounts, and SR and a system that generally encourages adapted glass (you get to easily program the lens' parameters in-camera). With Canon I need special adapters just to get focus confirmation, lol. But that flange distance is godly, and so is Magic Lantern. Also when it comes to flashes, Pentax wins again. Really broad compatibility. I think the only camera that compares to Pentax in its approach is the Nikon Df. Everything on it is designed to facilitate the use of vintage glass, it even accepts unmodified non-AI lenses. I'm really in awe of what Pentax offers at a fraction of the price.
