>>3777391Are you fucking retarded? It is clear that Canon lens is very sharp on any sensor. Let me make this very SIMPLE for you. If it is sharp on 50mp it will be sharp on 21mp. If it is sharp on 42mp, it will be sharp on 26mp, 24mp and 16mp. If it is not so sharp on 16mp, it will not be sharp on 26mp or 42mp.
It is clear, that the lens on the 16mp sensor is... not so sharp. 84% center sharpness on a 16mp sensor. 66% border sharpness, not that important in portrait photos but it shows the lens isnt all that its cracked up to be. While the other is showing 96% at 42mp in the center. Those roles are not going to suddenly reverse lmao.
The IQ of the 56mm 1.2 is perfectly fine and I would be more than happy with that IQ for my photos BUT, it clearly shows that one of the lenses really is top of the line. And it isn't the Fuji. The sucky part about the 56mm is the autofocus issues. Even on the XT4 which has vastly improved AF over previous Fuji's, the issues are a major deal breaker, that there is no question in my mind that I would take and trust first gen Sony to have my photos in focus when it says its in focus over the XT4 + 56mm 1.2. And I know itll definitely work, because I use the 85mm 1.8 with a first gen body and when it tells me the eye is in focus, it has never been out.
I would still take that over the XT4, even if we were in some parallel universe where all we had was first gen Sony, and the XT4 magically had 2 stops more DR and was half the price of a Sony first gen. I would not give a shit about how close ups of text on a news paper looks.
The 50mm f/1 on the other hand, if that happened to be cheaper, and it was the Sony that was expensive, than that would likely change my mind.
