>>377631842mp also exists and is available, so the Tamron has the capability to resolve on a body like that, the Fuji simply does not. But I can extrapolate your Canon data for you, since you are blind to the obvious.
At 55mm, the Fuji is at 81.5% for the center, and 64.6% for the border. At an area 80% for the Canon on 20mp, it decreases to 70.5% at 50mp. At an area of 62% on the Canon at 20mp it decreases to 43.4% (resolution gain of 4%) on 50mp.
If we apply that to the Fuji at % x 5000 (42mp), then 2526 would become 3525 in the Center and 2003 becomes 2170. The Tamron is 4622 in the center and 2737 in the border at 2.8, at 4.0 (the 2.8 equivalent) it is 5302 in the center and 3429 in the border. You can see no matter the increase, the Fuji wont achieve this.
The percentage /increases/ when lowering res. Considering the Tamron outresovles the sensor in the center, then we can say 100% or close to it for 24mp. The Fuji percentage of 81.5% will only go down, not up. The border value of the Tamron at 4.0 is 68.6%, on the Canon going from an area similar at 50mp down to 20mp results in 78.4%
So you can see the percentages only go up when going down in res, and only go down when going up in res. Hence, there is no chance for the Fuji to catch up to the Tamron.
People who shit on the Tamron lens are retarded, like OP.
