Poetry is a very image based art. It present beautiful images by combining different words and the beauty arise in the space between those(in photography we can do it though diptychs or photobooks).

I was listening to recitation of "The Singing Knives" by Frank Stanford which have very surreal and beautiful images like:

>Was a dead man floating down the river

>I dreamed the blacksnake rode the guitar
>Down the river
>I dreamed the clouds went by
>The moon like dead fish

>I dreamed that rising sun was smoking blood

>I dreamed the levee broke

>I dreamed the Gypsy was laughing under the water

>He had the bandanna around his neck
>And the pilot’s cap on
>He played the harp in the moonlight

>I saw the shadows coming like gars

and so on
