>>3784416>It is such a basic design it doesn't even have an adjustable aperture. Want more than 1.2 inch deep DoF at minimum focusing distance? Too bad, you cant stop down. and the focusing group has such little travel that the minimum focus distance is more than 50% further away. It lets in almost 1/4th the light but is only 1/2 the weight. And that isnt the bigma or whatever retarded name you want to call it.I'm not sure where you're going with this...? Wanna enlighten us, or do you just want to complain?
The RF 600/11 and 800/11 are specialized, budget, lightweight, birding lenses. Nothing more, nothing less.
>The term would be collapsed. Oh my God. You are insufferable (inb4, "well ACKSHULLY, the term would be unsufferable!). Unextended is good enough for you.
>And so is the 600 RF.Is there an echo in here? I said that in the post you quoted.
>Also your pic is of a completely different lens than the one I brought up.Image searches don't always give exactly what you're looking for.
>insufferable snark about sharpnessNot the person you're snarking at, but the lens *is* quite sharp. There's always going to be some lens that's sharper. That doesn't mean it's not sharp enough to produce detailed photos. Have you seen any actual photos taken with it? I've seen quite a few posted on forums by people who actually shoot photos, and the results are very satisfactory.
Again, these RF primes have a very specific niche, which I wrote earlier in this post. I don't think anybody buying them doesn't understand that. You appear to be a Sigma owner, and that's fine. I won't hold it against you too harshly. But perhaps a little bit more research is in order for you to understand what you are trying to talk about. An 800mm f/11 prime is not pretending to be a 150-600 zoom. It's a completely different lens with a different user who would buy it and use it for probably a completely different use.
