Just count the unique posters in popular threads, like gear threads and the RPT.

I would wager there are around 200-300 people that float in and out of this board over the span of a month. A week isn't necessarily a good indication of overall participation as many people might drop out and work on their photography for a week before posting it here. Other people shitpost daily and never post any fuckin' photos.

Then /p/ hasn't really improved. /p/ has room for 150 threads. One of them is the sticky. "Over a hundred threads hidden" leaves room for ~40 photo threads, which is about where this board always is. Attached is a snapshot of the catalog from a year ago. Green boxes are photo threads, everything else is something you would hide. Go ahead and count.

If anything, /p/ has gotten worse over time, as faggots keep creating new niche general threads. A year ago, we didn't have the portrait general, or the STREET GENERAL.

I counted the catalog. There were 30 photo threads out of 149. There were 68 gear threads, nine of them on the first page. This board is actually much worse compared to its state a year ago.

i post 1-2 times a week, usually when i have some good advice to give. i don't post photos because i've seen the photos people post here and, based on that, their critique means nothing to me. if i knew of a better community, i'd stop coming here entirely.

I post my stuff hoping I'll get some feedback but I don't get much comments except the usual "it's nice" or "it's shit". I don't dare to give advice because who the fuck am I to do so, I only started taking photo seriously about 6 month ago. I do try to post photos every 2 weeks or so though.
