What so funny is NFL Films crew use Arri Alexas for the showtime highlight stuff and the whole point of this gimmick was to make it look "cinematic". Why didn't they just have one of those arri operators do this?

CPU power. You can't broadcast Alexa. They're cinema cameras, made for different framerates.
Quality really is poor. Cuts, jerky framerate, wobbly corners. I've no idea what's causing it. It could be that they need to restrict bit rates since footage goes live. Nba is using similar setups for several seasons now under the baskets with zero problems. They use c200/c300, though.
