So I'm still working my way around photography and such and I'm really into macro bugs and such and would like opinions on a better flash and lighting. I've looked into it and come across this, is it any good or has anyone used it before. Meike MK-MT24
Camera is a nikkon d3300 DSLR if that helps

Camera really doesn't matter much at all either in my opinion

Just get a normal flash like a Godox TT600 and a diffuser like pic related.

It is popular, but you really don't need to rely on flash. In studio, you can help yourself with lights, and get as good, if not better results, and in the nature you can do with natural light alone.

I just went out today and shot for the first time in ages.
A cheap flash will do just fine. Mine cost like 8 bucks for some chinkshit off amazon, and I made my diffuser with some translucent plastic, thicc paper, and duct tape

But i want bigger DoF. I have to stop down to f22 with >>3790478 setup (around 2-2.5X).
Bigger DoF and smaller size/weight for same working distance (4-5cm).

f22 will give you some pretty heavy diffraction, consider focus stacking instead
if you can get a stack of even 2 shots you will have a fair dof with much more sharpness
