>>3790334For video EVIL offers the advantage of the viewfinder that doesn't black out, but for photography it's a drag. There's no replacement for a proper OVF, EVIL cameras are photo camera-shaped camcorders where you're looking at a screen instead of a proper viewfinder. If you use an external recorder/monitor and enjoy optical viewfinders go for a DSLR unless you want 8K video which requires a Canon R5 (but it overheats in few minutes in that mode unless you do some modifications). A slight improvement involves attaching a mini fan to it. Going the full way requires modding the heatsink and it can go for hours recording 8K but it voids the warranty. Also if you want to record for extended periods avoid Fujifilm, specially 2 and 3 digit models. The X-T30 overheats like crazy recording 4K. A budget option is the a6400 but it has terrible ergonomics, I wouldn't buy it. I'm not sure how well the Nikon models do. In the HD era they were decent for video but limited in terms of grading and available lenses. Maybe newer models have log curves.
>>3790439It's worth mentioning that Canon is the only one that offers dual pixel AF. The rest sacrifice pixels for AF sensors. The worst offender are the latest Fujifilm X-trans cameras, you get entire rows with no green information. Pic related.
