I've been learning photography (portraits and product photography; as a hobby) for a couple years on this piece of shit and as of now I'd like to switch to something half decent. Given that I'm on a budget and I have a couple nikon lens as of now, is the D750 still worth it in 2021?

I've switched from D3200 to D7100 and I was kinda disappointed about image quality and postprocessing possibilities being the same. Later I've learned that's because this cameras have the same sensor. But ergonomics became much better, true.

As I said I was (and still kinda am) a broke p.o.s. so I had to resort to inexpensive stuff.
Anyway I'm looking to buy a FF body as of now and a ≈700 bucks lens next month or so. Any advice?

Thanks anon! Given that I'm amateurish at best, it means a lot to me.
I tried doing some landscape photography here and there but the result weren't good AT ALL.

Very true! My biggest complaint is it's AF system. It's slow and unpredictable, most of the times I think I got it nailed on the face and i'm wrong and I can't even tell because the screen on the body is sooo low res.

Yeah when it comes to single point focus the newer cameras, even the shittiest entry level ones, are very reliable.
I got a camera which has about the worst AF in recent history and it still will hardly ever miss focus. Nowadays good or bad AF refers to video or when you shoot 4 second bursts.

Lost the popularity contest against Canon and Sony. Stuck to DSLRs way too long.

Better late than rushed garbage like Sony. Nikon Z and Canon RF have good ergonomics (for mirrorless) and good build quality. You sound like the kind of guy who'd rather have a Prius than a Hellcat because muh technology.

Pretty much everything they make is excellent is all I'm saying. And save for Canon, all the early full frame players are pretty much dead: Kodak and Contax couldn't compete with Canon. Pentax had a prototype but decided against mass production because of the costs being too high to sell well. Even Sony arrived later than Nikon with full frame.
