A personality is made up beliefs, distractions, interaction, consuming/making art etc. You need a functioning neurosis to go on with your life "normally". If there is breach on those walls you will start to develop a psychosis. Now the normalfags may feel some waves of mild psychosis but they have the methods such as politics, families, social media attention, sex, parties, partners, jobs, travelling, university, friends, activism for social rights, consumption of pop culture, consumer goods etc. to cover it up. Yes people who aren't retards do recognise the void but have the "healthy" ways to cope with it. Now the autists here have NOTHING but void. They lack the basic criteria for a functional neurosis and stay on the edge of normal discourse.
It is also dishonest on your behalf to compare 4chan with social media. Because here everyone is Anonymous. While there you have a face attached to whatever you do. You every tweet, story, status adds some "value" to your e-capital which gives some sort of immortal and significant feeling. Anonymity forces you to be as honest and self aware as you can. While social media forces you larp like everyone else otherwise you will be punished for committing a wrong think. Here you construct your personality with every post. It doesn't matter how you look like, what your identity is, how educated you are, how pretty your profile picture. You will be judged solely on the basis of your opinion. Yes there are many downsides to anonymity but it's still better than discourse on the internet.
