I think with photography to make money. you gotta pick a direction and try to rise to the top in it. Atleast for your city. I did alot of free work and when those people posted it, it exposes you to there whole circle. Any time i do a free shoot now it usually gets me 2-3 paid shoots from it. But im working on breaking into the commercial fashion game right now.

the catch is that for most people the only available cities where you can do shoots are ridiculously expensive that making something like this into a career is effectively non-viable. tons of really talented photographers go on a blitz for about 2-3 years and then stubbornly realize this and taper off into other streams. it feels like they eventually stop wanting to pay for the actually hot models so the rest of their work is with the pseudo-hot/mediocre ones. and it feels like at least 1/3rd of the male ones got cancelled/exposed for being some kind of sexual predator. so you start to wonder why you're not just doing something like wedding photography and actually getting paid real money to photograph those pseudo-hot or straight up ugly people anyway.

I dont agree with you. I've done a couple weddings. its not for me. my friend is a successful wedding photographer. he makes quite a nice living forsure but I really dont care to take photos of things i dont find an interest in. I have never paid a model in my life. Worked with all kinds of models. I think making money doing photography is like making money with anything. You need to strive to be the best. Its more than just photographs tho its also networking.

Then I would have had to shoot it in a different way with different exposure and more relying on texture and contrast. I could probably turn it into a mediocre black and white but I don't think I could make a particularly great one out of it.

Oh and i know i just thank people for there compliments always. Im here for all of it good or bad. I used to post my photos in /P/ a couple years ago and i would get absolutely ripped apart and as weird as it sounds i never forgot the criticism i received. It made 100% times better. im just thankful for all comments.

I do car photography for my friends and myself. The pandemic has been great because public places have been empty so I can throw my car pretty much anywhere. Taken on Canon T7 with 18-55mm lens

since lockdown started i haven't taken any photos so it's been a solid 8 or so months, but now we're down to virtually 0 cases and my friends and i are going out more and i'm getting more chances to take photos of whatever i can
feeling a little rusty but shouldn't take too long to get back into the groove of things

It is really nice, but you need to change the color noise in Lightroom. This shouldn't happen with a full-frame sensor unless the lens you're using is kind of bad.
