p.s. I should add that my philosophy is that the photo is the interaction of the photographer with their subject. What makes a good photo is not a typically interesting subject per se, but how they photographer represents their views or interest in their subject. Even with bland subjects, you can produce a good photo by capturing it the right way.

You are making the mistake of looking at the borders and not the photo. If you want to, feel free to crop out the border in your photo editing software of choice, and to look at the shots like that without the border. And extra hint as well is to look at them in terms of forms and colours. This should be pretty clear, but it may not be. Granted, too, some of these photos are better than others, so please don't cherrypick

What's your aperture and point of focus on most of these? Despite it being a tele, you get quite a lot of depth of field especially considering the angle of view is at a diagonal. Do you stack?

The white borders are a reflection of how aware you are of the hollow and vapid nature of your shots, it borders the uncanny valley between ironic and Pretentious.

Best advice I can give is to put your camera down, pick up a book.

These are at f/11, and the point of focus is somewhere in the bottom third of the frame. They're at a good distance, too, so depth of field isn't much of a problem. My camera has focus peaking which helps immensely, but you can do a similar thing with DoF preview and I have done exactly that in the past

White borders get hate because they're seen as a way for any amateur to pretend their photos are artistic, and anons take this to the autistic extreme and think that any white border is automatically a snapshit dressed up to look like something more than it is.
I use them to separate the photo from this baby-blue background, but the tradeoff is that I get anons who can only see the border and start yelling about it. If that's the only critique they have to offer then it's not worth much, which is why I mocked it in the OP.

Also I would recommend you to read a book called The Poetics of Space. It's very comfy just like your photography. And the author has explored interior and exterior aesthetics in great detail. A lot of really kino ideas.

I'll probably be looking into longer focal lengths at some point, but right now I'm pretty happy with what I'm using and want to experiment more with that before moving on to something else. I may go back to some 75mm for a bit though. I don't think I'll do much shooting below that range for a while, except for something special I'm cooking which is entirely different from what's in this thread. I've gotta do some things before that comes to fruition though.
