>>3809330because back then focusing was done via split prisms or similar methods. these obviously got better and better with time, but some really old cameras (mainly rangefinders) are really tricky to focus since the "focus patches" arent as defined as the rectangle in leica m6s or so on. they look more like circles and are pretty hazy most of the time. it's easy to miss focus with those.
