>>3809777OK OP, I got you. I just went through this same decision process so I'll break it down for you.
I assume you really mean pocketable (like jeans pocket), which rules out the Leica Q, RX1, LX100, or pretty much anything with interchangeable lenses unles there are good pancake options on an already small body.
You can choose from essentially two categories
>APSC sensor with 28mm eq lensRicoh GR is probably the best (I and II are basically the same, and still perform very well)
Fuji XF10 also exists
Nikon Coolpix may be the best deal
>1" sensor with zoom lensSony RX100 is the most popular and older versions may be the cheapest option. Great performance but shit ergos
Panasonic LX10 seems pretty nice
Panasonic ZS100 is probably the best if you want a bigger zoom range
Canon G7x/G9x desu don't know a ton about this but it didn't really stand out from the sony and panasonic options. iirc the lens is a tad softer but it's probably fine in the real world
I ended up goin with the rx100 mkii. I'm happy with it but I would prefer the lens of the mkiii and lx10 I think. I probably missed some models.
You could also go cheaper and get something with a smaller sensor, but there's too many option to list.
