I am a total slut for the anamorphic look, always wanted to get into it once I have a good enough reason, and now I believe I do.

My question is do anamorphic lenses work well for filming subjects moving across the frame like in sports fencing for example?
I would also like to use them on a steadicam but neither my camera nor lens have IS, will I need to get a motorized gimbal for example and mount it on a steadicam to be able to get steadi dynamic footage?
