Don't shill but if someone I know asks for a good beginner recommendation, I tell them a7m3 even though the menus are ass and colors weaker than Canon.
What I still enjoy about the cam is being spoiled by Tamron and Sigma's e-mount lenses which don't skimp on performance and I enjoy shooting without paying Sony brand tax

I work for Fuji's online marketing team, but I don't really shill here, I get 12c for a post on dpreview as a flat rate, I get 3c for a post on here - but only if it gets at least 2 replies.

There's about 2 dozen sites that I get paid through, 4chan and Facebook comments pay the least, dpreview and Amazon reviews pay the best.

back when I was in camera retail, Sony payed the best, followed by Panasonic, Nikon, and Canon last.

I don't shill for anyone anymore, but when I was getting sales incentives Sony was the fucking best even though their cameras are built like shit and even their RAW files are crap compared to canikon

Canon used to have the most aggressive marketing department.

But in recent years that has shifted into Fujifilm and Sigma as the most rabid marketeers.
Most people generally don't notice the Sigma marketeering though, since they usually do a good job at not attacking the other camera and lens manufacturers.
The Fujifilm marketeers have failed quite hard on that aspect though and have drawn a lot of ire across the whole spectrum.

People only think Fuji shills exist because they exploded onto the scene with hood quality enjoyable and aesthetic gear. Anyone who picks Sony over Fuji is retarded. The XT series, along with the x-pro series made a huge impression and set a standard when they came out.

Sigma are the only company who have significantly moved the quality of sensor technology in the last decade.

A full frame camera from 2012 has almost the same bit depth as a camera from 2021.
