I bought a camera, studied the exposure triangle for thirty minutes, downloaded dark table, and shotcut.

Tomorrow I'm heading out to take some photos. Please give me some ideas of what to shoot, and approximate shutter speeds, Fstops and ISO ranges, and I'll see what I can come up with.

Give me a home work assignment

Tip 1: outside of autists nobody uses the aperture for exposure compensation but rather to determine the depth of field / sharpness.
Tip 2: everyone that has had sex shoots on aperture priority

A crutch for what? There won't be a time when cameras are released that can't determine the right shutter speed and ISO themselves.

OP here. I've watched several videos of people saying to use manual mode, and one very convincing video where a photographer explained why he almost always allows the camera to control one aspect of the expos triangle. According to him unless you're in a studio setting where you can control all of the variables, then the camera will do a better job adjusting one of the three variables.
So for street portraits he sets aperture and iso, and let's the camera control shutter speed. For sports he sets shutter speeds and aperture and let's the camera control iso.

His rational is that things change too quickly in the real world for humans to control all three settings, as effectively as the camera

Imagine a world with full CCTV coverage of all possible angles in all possible positions, where every photo of every activity at all time is recorded. Would this make photography superfluous? If not, why?

Also, it's absolutely a good idea to do this, but don't forget to tell camera where to adjust the exposure by using exposure compensation.

People have trained neural networks to distinguish between good and bad photos. Just run the camera output through something like that. Add feedback so that the photos that get the most praise train the networks’ next generations.

This is why I usually shoot in manual mode with auto ISO.
I think it goes without saying that you want to set your aperture manually. It makes sense to me to do the same with shutter speed depending on what you're shooting, if it's moving, what focal length you're using, whether you have IS, etc. I normally do a few test shots and find the slowest that gets me the results I want then stick with it for the most part, checking my pictures occasionally and letting the camera choose an appropriate ISO for each shot.
This kinda falls apart in low light with bright lights, like when shooting street at night. Then I'll switch to manual ISO or set the limit for auto ISO to 1600 so it doesn't decimate the highlights
