This is useful, but so annoying to carry around and it probably weights as much as a brick. I personally feel like zoom lens camera like this are only good for onsite shoots etc. If you're doing anything else this is just a waste. Get a 35mm and call it a day or just get the real deal. Your style is diminished if you don't learn to shoot with a prime. Zoom is anti style.

>WR though is useful, may consider for inclement weather and not having to switch lens and risk anything getting on the sensor glass.

That's in Aussie dorrah tho. Real price is even less. And on the seconds market these things are borderline worthless. Don't waste money OP.

I noticed Nikon is nerfing their kit lenses by moving towards max apertures of 6.3. On the one hand, I get it. Sensors and AF modules are getting better (many cams can now focus down to f8). The lenses would also be smaller and cheaper to build. I haven't tried these new kit zooms out, but on paper they are lower spec than previous gens. Doesn't give a lot of faith in Nikon and I was a big fanboy.

A common issue with that lens is a rough zoom ring. It doesn't seem to get better with time so make sure they have a good exchange policy.
