>>3829743>>3829725A zoom lens (especialy if it covers wide angle) is a lot easier to design for APS-C than FF given a certain flange distance.
Primes are mostly FF designs, the exception beeing wide angle primes.
Case study, my APS-C DSLR setup:
>(super) wide angle zoom10-24mm f/3.5-4.5
Such wide angle zooms don't realy exist for FF
>normal zoom17-50mm f/2.8 (constant aperture)
It is APS-C specific as wide aperture wide angle zooms for FF are ridiculously expensive.
It's the lens I use the most as it's insanely versatile.
>superzoom18-200 mm f/3.5-6.3
APS-C specific, such lenses would be rather expensive in FF if they even exist at all.
Also like it a lot as it's wide range of focal lengths can sometimes be realy usefull, got a good copy that is pretty sharp.
>35mm f/2 primeFF compatible, about 50mm FF equivalent.
>50mm f/1.4 prime (USM)FF compatible, great portrait lens on APS-C
>70-300mm f/4-5.6 telezoomFF compatible, gives me quite some reach with APS-C
So:
6 lenses in total.
FF compatible: 3
APS-C specific: 3
Keep in mind, these aren't realy cheap lenses.
