Decided it's worth a shot here.
I've just got back from the Bush. It gave me a chance to use my Nikon D5000 which I've had for ten years gathering dust. It's also been about that long since I was in the bush.
I'd consider myself a total noob in photography - I've read enough to understand the basic technical principles (i.e how a damn DSLR works) but I haven't actually practiced it or done any proper reading on shot composition.
Everything was shot on the Nikon 55-200mm f4-5.6 kit lens that came with the camera. I haven't touched anything in Lightroom (I just used it to export - I wouldn't really know where to start anyway).
Regardless, I'm feeling a completely new love for photography. The rush of shooting something so unpredictable, so dangerous was incredible - not to mention you are stuck right among some of the most beautiful, majestic beasts in all the world.
So please /p/ wizards, lay your criticism, tips and advice on me so that when I got back in another ten years I'm at least marginally better.
(The image you see here is my favourite. Her name is Saseka)
