>>3830688I picked up photography as a hobby somewhere around July of last year, half of the reason being that it's an excuse to get out of the house. I bought a Pentax K1000 off of ebay and a box of Kodak Gold 200 speed film and went shooting. After shooting and developing three rolls of film, I thought I'd try to get, what I assumed at the time, a decent digital camera.
After some admittedly light research, I found and proceeded to purchase a Canon PowerShot SX540HS. Five shooting sessions later sprawled out over two months, I'm starting to either lose interest in the hobby or I've run out of things to photograph. Granted, I only feel like I've "run out" of things to photograph since three out of five of the sessions took place in the downtown area of where I live.
I know the basic rules of photography and I'm not doing this for instagram or for fame of any sort, I'm just trying to have fun on my days off and getting out of the house in the process. I'm not sure if I need/want better/new gear or if I should drive out to some different towns nearby and take photos there. Maybe even try to learn different approaches to photography and subject matter.
For reference, most of the pictures I've taken are of buildings and the runner-up would be other peoples' cars.
