>>3839348Micro Four Thirds is a system Panasonic recently confirmed their support for, at least... in words only at CP+ 2021.
Panasonic would be dumb to abandon a system that has the most amount of ILC market share in Japan. Most of their shareholders are Japanese, and the idea of abandoning a system that has that level of market share seems like ritualistic suicide for no reason.
The problem with L-Mount right now is the fact that the full frame cameras lack phase detection, and the fact that Panasonic can't really put out many lenses of their own. Either they bring another brand into L-Mount, or just accept the fact that it's the next best alternative to Sony E for being an open FF system.
Sigma's own problem with L-Mount seems to be the fact that the fp is strange, unusual, and pretends to be a box camera for cinematography. Yet it has only 1 dial, no IBIS and no mechanical shutter, making it far less than optimal for stills.
I'm getting less interested in L-Mount, mostly as the FUD over OMDS seems to be going away.
