>>3840299It’s a pro model, it’ll a high tier price regardless. The A7r series has always been more expensive than the regular 7. Prices rose after covid though. I remember the Christmas before covid the next special on the A7iii was $1800 AUD iirc, now shops still have it at $3k.
That very well could be inflation, I don’t think the lockdown and printing a tonne of money has been reflected in everything and inflation has yet to hit everything - food, gas, domestic products etc. many things have been kept in check but I guess it may be like a rubber band and can only hold for so long. While stuff like cameras reflected it immediately.
Shit part is when inflation hits it destroys the value of your savings. If you have $10k in savings, and everything suddenly becomes 2x as expensive, it’s basically the same as the government coming and taking $5k out of your bank account prior to that.
Lockdowns, printing more money and handing it out, quantitive easing etc basically is a roundabout legal way for the government to rip money out of your savings, and also wages if they don’t grow by the inflation rate.
This is why people put money into gold as it protects against that, and well banks interest rate is below normal inflation anyway while gold grows slowly.
Also it’s a big reason for the new crypto boom. Btc being seen as digital gold, and eth as digital silver, to protect your money from this bullshit.
