They release a series of fast aperture G master lenses that BTFO other lenses in their class while being smaller and more lightweight than them.
They then realize that they can BTFO Fuji and other manufacturers known for "compact" setups, and so they make a series of 3 f/2.5 primes.
Now, you can not only have a better sensor, better autofocus, better ergonomics, and better battery life; you can also have a lens that's just as compact and yet also faster (since APS-C lenses at "f/2" are f/3.06 equivalent.)
