>>3851188I agree with this.
>>3851085I also think we're pretty conditioned to see certain things as uncomfortable. Grainy or blurry means potential panic or "real" for being amature, and that'd all come from years of bigfoot and UFO photos that got adopted by the internet for creepypastas etc 'cause they're easier to edit up and strip away a lot of detail, leaving questions. You'll convince more people they're not sure what they saw in the photo than you'll convince them it's a photo of a goblin.
Depends what you mean by uncomfortable.
If OP's pic is uncomfortable then I'd say it might be cause it's a glimpse into someone's life that you're not typically meant to see. It's dusty, but not filthy - badly painted - pin in doorframe for the cable. It's "behind the scenes" of what you're normally going to aim to focus on. It's the opposite of the grainy and blurry effect because now you can hyperfixate.
I always figured that's why liminal pics are thought of as creepy. There's the idea of it being transitionary, but I think somethings are just weird when the seem out of their intended element or "dead"; like a plane underwater is "spooky" because it's an alien environment for it. Likewise long empty corridors are meant to serve a purpose but in being presented empty are either not fulfilling that or are implying those that should be there are unseen. But it's all going to be pretty subjective.
