No, they're accurately describing their philosophy and their emphasis on the viewfinder optics. I shoot Canon but if the opportunity arises you can bet I'm getting a Pentax, it's the Alfa Romeo of the digital camera world. Soul and passion. It rewards the photographer the same way an Alfa rewards its driver, with an experience that is pure joy. Just look at macro anon, he never had a DSLR until he bought a Pentax K1 II (he had some useful but ultimately soulless stuff before, like a Fuji X100S and used to see photography as a means to an end. The SLR experience with his Pentax moved him so much that he became worried about the talks of the "death of the SLR" and ended up buying like 60 Exaktas to restore. A guy who didn't care about photography outside of fulfilling some necessities (photographing his products for selling them and little else). You may not agree with the decision to buy that huge stock of cameras that probably won't be too easy to sell, but you can see how impactful a good DSLR can be. It is a different way of seeing, man and machine become one thanks to the optical viewfinder. If we get a bit pedantic with definitions it could be argued that the relationship becomes so intimate that when you use a SLR camera you briefly become a cyborg.

I rather have a K1 but the lens selection is expensive and somewhat limited.
Can't use the Nikkors due to them being screwdrivers and Takumar/Ricoh/Limited lenses are expensive for what they are, you can get better Nikkor lenses for much cheaper.
I just want them to put good lenses out and use the same focus as with their cameras, that is solid stuff with few elements.

I spoke to an avid dslr boomer yesterday. He shot Pentax for majority of his life, his only previous cam was 43 Olympus of five megapixels. Dude is very good, loves, and knows his craft.

Problem is that they're all OLD and outdated. When was the last time that Pentax released a new, modern lens? They simply stopped designing and releasing lenses, it's even a question if they still have staff and knowhow to do that.

You can use Canon FD lenses on an EOS M with an adapter, just like how you can use screwmount Pentax lenses on a K-mount body with an adapter.

(That being said, neither of you are technically correct, since you can't use Pentax Q lenses on a K-mount body, and I don't think you can use full-frame mirrorless Canon RF lenses on an EOS M)

Isn't the K1mk2 on sale for 1800?

-same price as a sony A7C
-Still Full Frame
-DSLR goodness; higher MP count at 36
28-105 lens is only about $500 vs. sony's equivalent which is about $1000

I own a sony which is why I'm comparing to them; I am seriously liking the look of the K1. I I had enough money for a mirrorless and DSLR I'd definitely get the K1

No matter how good mirrorless is, it's still a fundamentally different experience. Both have advantages and disadvantages and for me personally the advantages of OVF outweigh the disadvantages.

Same. Mirrorless may be worth it to working photographers who need some of the lame stuff it offers like hamster asshole AF or automatic cloud backup but if you're an enthusiast then you want to maximize joy. And maximizing joy is done by looking through the lens. Mirrorless is inherently cucked. The only reason to endure it is if you get paid for it. I don't have a camera to suffer, I have a camera to enjoy. I'm already compromising enough of the experience by shooting digital, I'm not going to take another step in making the experience less great. I also have a mixture of AF and manual lenses and the manual ones are the instructions I enjoy shooting the most (partly because the AF ones I have are trash if you want to use them manually, but having aperture control in the lens is very nice too). Maybe if I was still on Nikon with their rear dial I'd like aperture control in the body more, but the Canon disc blows.

Yep. If/when my employer buys me a work camera to shoot promo material, training videos, etc., it'll be the Z6 II but I wouldn't buy one for casual shooting.

I think you would love the K-1 with a limited prime.
Two rear dials, and direct aperture control on the lens if you want.
You can have direct control of the exposure triangle with separate controls.

Please anon, the only Sony parts on Fuji cameras are the sensor and the viewfinder.
Besides, Pentax uses Sony sensors too.
Fujislugs are butthurt about people looking through the lens when they can't.
