>>3854557>>3854566What he said. I have an 85mm f1.2. Ot works wonders at night. Some cameras are far better than others at night too. My canon r5 doesn’t care about high iso - images come out good no matter what. They get noisy above 12800... but it’s somehow fine. My canon 6d before that produced garbage by the same standard above 800. What camera and lens do you use? But luckily you can shoot a lot of stuff at 30 second exposures with a tripod - some things even look fantastic that way - car brake lights, water etc, so you can still shoot at iso 100 to 400
>>3856635I always recommend setting it to full manual and never touching the dial again. It’s super awkward for a little while but you force yourself to adapt. Using the priority modes is a crutch that prolongs the process.
>>3857117Look... it’s KIIIIIND of unavoidable. If i want to shoot a shutter speed that is just simply too slow, i’ll put the camera in burst mode and shoot 20 images. One of them will ACCIDENTALLY be sharp hahaha!
Actually i just realised i have a perfect video i made for this a while back. The video itself is autistic garbage but the technique is really useful. It takes some (limited) photoshop skill to do, but it can really help in this exact high iso scenario
