They're hardly worth the stealingI'm guessing it wasn't "theft" so much as "I'm too lazy to go take pictures with this now; I'll just set this down and do it later" and then they forgot about it and it was several years later and they were too embarrassed to send it on.
This, incidentally, is why I've never joined in with any of these traveling camera things when it's been done in the past. I love it in theory, but when it comes to the idea of actually packing up a thing and shipping it off to someone else, I just feel tired and stressed out about the mere idea. If there were someone nearby I could just hand it off to, I'd totally do it.
