>>3856802Ah yes, I've looked into John Gunn before.
I've gotten most of my stuff from the GB based companies - Park Cameras, WEX, Cambrian Photography, etc.
For prices in Sterling, it's better value to get from GB, but idk what the heck is going to happen with the NI Protocol and if I'm going to have to pay import VAT on stuff from GB, so I've familiarised myself with the stores in Dublin, at least their websites (cuz it's currently verboten to even cross the border...).
Prices in Euro, after conversion into Sterling, is between £80-300 more expensive from the likes of Conn's. I get that the VAT is higher and that people are overall richer in the south, especially around Dublin... but that's taking the piss.
I have Olympus gear, so only Conn's actually stock it. Bermingham stocks Panasonic Lumix G gear, which is compatible, but is still pretty limiting.
And I guess Amazon fucking sucks for gear.
Out of curiosity, do you know of any people who do film development on-site? Currently, I send my film negatives to a lab in the south of England - their prices are pretty damn fair, and I can't really complain, but idk what's the situation going to turn into with the NI Protocol, and if they're going to start charging import VAT on the film I already own, but that's just been developed...
Fucking Brits fucking over Northern Ireland.
