Looks like that it was intended. You can get nice pastel tones naturally when overexposing. More importantly, you can get rid of distracting shadows on a sunny day.

And who knows, I metered it properly but it was overcast with an even blanket of clouds. Maybe it would have looked slightly better to you if I had done 1/200 but I like it the way it is at 1/125.

yeah, i only use my dslr to scan negatives in the last two years because shooting with film camera feels more fun.

if your having gear acquisition syndrome i would recommend taking a break from photography for a month or two, it made me stop watching and reading gear reviews after a while and made me want to shoot instead.

Yeah, I have enough gear I don't care to buy more of a format I already have. The Sony's I've gotten were to get some sort of mirrorless and I have less than 3 thousand actuations on both cameras but I wont sell them. I do like them cause muh megapixels.

How do you like scanning with a DSLR? I've only used my home scanner or the local film shop.

Its kinda slow but worth it, it gives greater control over color and shadows than editing a scan jpeg. sometimes when i'm busy i send my film to the lab.

For comparison i scanned and developed this >>3870582 and >>3870570 myself and this one >>3870509 and pic related done by the lab.
