EOS M6II for 899 EUR? M system seems pretty well fledged out by now, offering dual pixel, a few nice primes from Canon and Sigma, and the best APS-C sensor currently on the market. Even if it was a dead end, I dont think I would miss any lens. WBU?

75 EF-M lenses available on BH. But EF lenses are an amazing value proposition: they work with native functionality on RF, EF, EF-S and EF-M cameras. If you have the adapters, it's like buying 4 lenses in one.

Anyway, many people ingore what makes fujifilm X so special. Or at least pretend to not understand it. No, it is not vintage aesthetic, or film simulatios.

It is that fujifilm gives a shit about their system. It has options, that no other aps-c system have. Or sometimes even some full frame systems doesnt have.

Everybody can make fast 50, or at least equivalent of fast 50. This is most boring lens, and fujifilm gives their user option of having something else. Most most common, not what majority uses daily, but if you ever need lens like this, you don't need to change system. Fujifilm has you covered.

Lenses like 8-12 f2.8, 50 f1, 90 f2, 50-140 f2.8, 200 f2 straight up doesnt exist on other system. They gave even their medium line options of 10 bit video recording and high bitrate.

They have pro bodies, with robust frame, excellent ergonomics and physical control (both decicaded exposure dials and classic two command dials). You can see that canon when they made EOS M6 thought

Comparing eos m (see above), nikon z aps-c (it literally has 2 lenses) and sony e aps-c (most competent, but still doesn't have many of fuji x options and bodies are heavliy crippled not to jeopardize a7 sales) it is easy to see which company wants you to use their aps-c bodies and which want you to buy it, hit the wall with options and buy their more expensive cameras.

They get a composite skin on top of the magnesium.
I didn't post M6 II because I don't have pictures of it, but those other M series cameras are cheaper so they're the baseline for construction quality.

The XF 50mm f/1.0 is $1500 and only works on crop. It's also big. It's a meme. You can get a full frame setup for the same money as a Fuji camera and that lens, and you'll get better image quality.

i was rolling with the m3 and 22 pancake and 55-200
I found the m6 for cheap and got the sigma 56mm now and i thought 24mp was just not enough resolution but this lens is so fucking sharp
It would make a good travel/second cam but with the m line future looking iffy probably not worth buying into if you're new to photo UNLESS you can get a good price

idk once i went full frame I don't think I can go back just for vintage glass don't know how anyone as a hobbyist can justify 500 quid for a lens that I can get for 100 that has similar image quality just lacking auto focus.

What the fuck are you talking about? I've shot Canon in rainstorms, sandstorms, thunderstorms, and one time left a 7D shooting star trails only to find it covered in ice and still shooting 4 hours later.

The ONE time I had a weather related failure it was with a 3rd party, non-weather sealed lens on the body in heavy, heavy rain. (Stupid of me but I didn't anticipate that much rain for the hike and I really wanted the UWA view of that lens.) After leaving the lens and body on the dash of car for an hour to dry in the sun everything was fine.

Also: all the dick measuring in this thread is retarded. The M6 mark II is a great body, there are some great native lenses, and you can adapt any EF lens. It's not for everyone because Canon is not as committed to EF-M crop as they are to RF. Buy it or don't.

Being softer wide open is just one aspect, often the old lenses have much more pleasing image rendition most noticeable on digital sensors since film has different color sensitivities. There is a reason why vintage glass is still highly sought after and calling lenses "hot garbage" just because of one aspect is plainly retarded.

subjective opinion, older lenses are objectively worse in CA, flaring, distortion, etc. They're garbage if pixelpeeping and specsheets are what you're after. There's a reason why old zooms still go for pennies.
