It's worth noting that the Panasonic Lumix L1 shares common components with the Olympus E-330, which itself is an advancement on the E-300.
While the Leica Digilux 3 is essentially a rebuilt Lumix L1.
Four Thirds was a whacky DSLR system.
Micro Four Thirds is way more logical these days, though the early days of MFT was pretty fucking dumb. The OM-D line of cameras salvaged it from the depths of the undesirable - an ILC targeted at point and shoot users.
