There's lots of options for a compact digital point n shit in that price range. They're all pretty similar, features wise. It would just depend on what you're into.

This Lumix DMC-TS30 was released in 2015. I'm not familiar with camera cycles, so what are the chances this will get updated shortly. Also, any input on this camera would be appreciated.

Not much chance of a point & shoot digital getting an update at all. The market for those has basically gone poof because cellphones ate it from the bottom and falling prices of Real Cameras ate it from the top.

If you want a sensor as big as that one though you'll need something like a G1X III though, and it's a lot more than 200 bucks.
How much is an LX100 there? It's not as big but it's close.
