The photographers that I know and have known in real life don't hate each other. Quite the opposite. It is only on social media, and that includes 4chan, where bad behaviour and hate are rewarded with likes.

I don't see it either. Went to a nearby lake during twilight to take some photos, saw a guy posted with a tripod on the spot I wanted to shoot from as well so I just approached him, asked if I could join him and talked about his gear etc.

Most of the douchebag photogs I've met are just projecting due to their own insecurities. Usually I can get them to let their guard down to chat for a bit, and then they drone on and on about how great they are. So I politely ask for their business card before I excuse myself, assuming they didn't shove it in my face first, and far more often than not, their photographs are fairly mundane.

The photogs who are good, and not necessarily professionals, are usually quite nice.
