post your p&s choice for street snaps
by that i mean cameras only between phones and semi pro cameras like x100 or ricoh gr etc
so in short affordable point and shoots

The original LX100 which can be had for 150 bucks nowadays.
Super worth it due to the really nice manual controls, really fast lens and great IBIS

they're not under 350€ here and it supposed to be a cheaper/better site than ebay. but these specific cameras are still overpriced for me that's why i thought i'd go with a sony hx50 maybe ?!?!

You haven't tried either if them, you are just reading spec sheets.

That said, I bought the first version when it came out and was given the fourth (or was it fifth, can't remember) to take out for a test. I hated both of them.

The Canon G1X iii doesn't look so great on paper but it is the best point and shit I have used by a wide margin. Its biggest failure is a manual fucking lens cap instead of a nice retractable one.

Now fuck off and post in the gear thread

what other compact has realy good lowlight performance? his were all in iso 100, how the FUCK is a little sensor like that so good?

for lowlight, just use a tripod and do longer exposures at base iso. will also work with smaller sensors. then tweak in post.
or with a good image stabilization for handheld shots. or applying denoise in post in high iso shots.
for true pocket compacts, its usually up to the newest apsc ones like gr iii, xf10 have the best high iso performance

No, it's not "many times smaller" ffs, why do people have to resort to hyperbole? It's just that the GR can retract its lens. This matters if you're trying to fit the camera into a pant's pocket. But honestly the GR is too big for that as well. There's a reason why phones are so damn thin.
