Why would you want to move to Sony if you like Canon's lenses so much better?

I'm canon-biased myself, but this thread just seems like bait to start an argument, not a legitimate attempt to start a discussion.

The sony 70-200 f4 also has notorious construction variability and suspect durability. A real shame, since a 70-200/210 f4 is usually one of the best combinations of IQ, price and size you can get in any mount. Sony needs to get around to refreshing the lineup of older lenses. The 24-70 f4 would also be a good lens to refresh.

I thought the vast majority of Sony cameras have IBIS?

The tamron 70-180 2.8 is 15% skinnier and 20% lighter and the same length. And all Sony bodies have ibis.

He meant in-lens IS.

He called it IBIS either out of ignorance (i.e., thinking it's a shorthand for image stabilization) or as a troll (because he wanted someone to angrily correct him). Not sure which; not sure it matters.

And we're talking 70-200, in lens ibis doesn't really have much of an improvement these days below 500mm.

Shooting at 1 \ half ss, 2 full stops lower than the minimum an experienced photographer would use without ibis. And that's on an adapted lens. And there's absolutely no sign of motion blur.

I use the tamron at 1/200s without ibis on my a6400. Lens stabilization would help but most of my shots are totally in focus. It's not a big deal in practice
