>>3888359The technical side is literally 1 month of learning how to use lighting and how the hardware works if you grind every day. Using the full extent of photoshop and editing could take up to 1 year. In 1 year you should know everything thats there to know from digital photography including composition. After that its up to your talent.
Frankly you have it easy. You dont know how abysmally deep is to learn music theory. And I dont mean to play the instrument. To play an instrument really good could take 10 years. But theory? Thats another 10 years and you will never know everything. Want to record, mix and master? Another 1 year on top of that.
The equivalent of learning how to operate the camera takes a decade with an instrument or a brush. Of course then you are limited by your implementation of said knowledge and your innate talent. But photography is a very accessible hobby. With painting for example, you need to compose the image, think about the lighting, the technical setup same with a photo and a camera, but after that you press a button on the camera, while the other guy has to actually paint the artwork. Video is way harder since its literally the same but in movement, with actors, music, editing, big team coordination, social skills, etc.
So stop complaining and start grinding.
