>This isn't what I was going forIf you value gimmicks like cross processing over technically proficient photography, that's fair enough, but to really be able to give direction and intent to your gimmick you should be able to understand what differences you are making, and why.
Personally I often use a split colour polarising filter, which can lead to all sorts of wild colours, I appreciate that "correct" isn't what everyone wants to do every day.
